Welcome to Argentina

“Portenos are Italians who speak Spanish, were educated by the British and want to be French”
Jorge Luis Borges (famous Argentinan writer)

...“The characteristics of a culture will gradually become evident as one becomes aware of the patterns of interaction between individuals (…) and various rituals of daily routines. As one explores the rationale for these aspects of culture, one usually finds that there are sound historical explanations for the way things are done.”
Gareth Morgan, 1998

Asado: Farewell & Welcome!

Finally, Chris also arrived in BsAs! ...he is another SGP-person who will spend the next 8 months here. For him a perfect welcome, and at the same time my first farewell, we had a great asado ( = barbecue) in the green on Saturday! It was the first really great Spring day with 35 degrees and blue sky. So, we spent the whole day outside, enjoying the sun and even managed to "paddle" a little :-) .... thank you very much to all of the people who joined this great Saturday! And especially thank you to Romi, who organized most of it and Juan, the great chef of the day!! :-)
